Before we moved to Glyn-Coch in 2000, Thelma was teaching adults who needed to learn or renew their literacy and numeracy skills. One of the students was an 80 year old business man whose fading site meant that he wanted to learn to use computers so that he could scan and enlarge his documents and continue running his business. In the course of learning about spreadsheets and word processors, he mentioned his interest in Radio, and Thelma told her about her and her family's similar interests.
Some time after we moved here we were saddened to hear of our friend's death, and very surprised when another phone call a few weeks later told us that he had left us his collection of about 30 old radios. As we already had a collection of computers on show it seemed a wonderful idea to celebrate this part of Ray's full life by putting his radios on show as as well.
