Round Knitting Looms. Easy knitting for the whole family!
Similar to French Knitting - also known as "Cork-Work" or "Knitting on a Dolly" - but this is the grown up version.
Safer for children than using needles and much easier then needles or dollies.
Easier for elderly people. Better for stiff or arthritic fingers than using needles.
Better for busy people. It’s faster and work can be put down and taken up again without stitches falling off needles.
Better for travelers. Pegs hold the wool in a bouncing vehicle.
Round Looms make tubes which can easily become bags, socks, hats, sleeves, or even the bodies of jumpers, skirts or dresses.
Strips of material can be made by leaving one peg unused and knitting backward and forward round the rest of the pegs. Strips can be used as scarves, backs or fronts of jumpers etc. Scarf looms can make thicker double sided scarves. Combo looms are the same shape as scarf looms, but with pegs round the end of the slot, they can also be used to make tubes, and take less space in a suit case then a round loom. Rake Looms can be used for quilt squares, single sided scarves, or other flat strips. They have the advantage of being slightly lighter to carry around.
Strips or tubes can be shaped by knitting on fewer pegs, in the same way as casting off (or on) stitches on needles.
Many different stitches can be used and combinations of stitches can produce spectacular patterns. Ordinary knitting patterns can be used. Colourful effects can be achieved by using two or three balls of wool simultaneously.
Our kits contain instructions and all materials for starter projects, and we can supply more advanced information, materials and tools on request. There is a 13Mb (*.wmv) video which will take about 2 minutes to download giving a basic instructions here.
Our looms have wood (MDF) frames and specially designed nylon pegs. They are light and comfortable to use and give long trouble free life when used normally. They are stronger then plywood, metal or plastic versions. The smooth and gently curved surfaces do not catch or abrade the fibre. We have been selling these looms (and using them ourselves) for several years and have never heard of or experienced any problems.

All kits contain instructions, loom, pick and a starter ball of wool.
Note that projects listed for each loom are examples of what can be easily made on that loom. Large projects can be made on small looms by making strips of material and sewing them together. Of course the neatest way to make a tube (for a hat, sock, sleeve etc) is to use a round loom of exactly the right size.

Terms and conditions
All goods supplied by us remain the property of Glyn-Coch Studios until paid for in full.
We check each loom before it leaves our premises to ensure that as far as possible it will arrive with you in perfect condition and free from manufacturing faults..
We believe that the materials used to make these looms are safe to use for their intended purpose.
We cannot take responsibility for loss or damage once the parcel has left our premises and is in transit. (Though some postal services or couriers offer insurance. Please ask us about this when ordering.)
We cannot take responsibility for damage to the loom or person caused by misuse of these products.
The small tack used to anchor the end of the wool has a sharp point, and the tool used to manipulate the wool, though not sharp, could scratch or penetrate skin. Some parts are small enough to swallow. Therefore we strongly recommend that children or people with special needs are closely supervised when using our looms.
We can take no responsibility for damage caused by the fibres (e.g. wool, cotton etc.) used to knit on these looms, and would recommend that you observe any warnings given by the fibre manufacturers
Please consult your local authority before disposing of looms you no longer use, as special conditions may effect the recycling of the MDF base or Nylon pegs. Precautions may be advised before cutting or grinding MDF.
We are based in the UK and understand our obligations under UK laws. We cannot be held responsible if foreign laws expect different standards, but if you are aware of a difference in your country, please let us know so that we can improve our future products or services.
However, if you do experience problems when using the looms, please tell us so that we can advise you how you can get over the problems, and if appropriate modify future products.

What script is on this page? The only Script on this page is the "Statcounter" script,
What does it do? It records basic information about the use of our Web Pages. It tells us things like which pages were looked at, which countries users live in, what browser and screen resolution were used. This will help us to improve your experience of the site.
Do I have to allow it, or can I block it? Blocking Statcounter will make no difference to your use of the site. Allowing it helps us.
Does Statcounter collect personal information? Statcounter does not collect personal information. The small file space we have opted for at Statcounter means that data is overwritten every month. We only use averaged data.
Can the Statcounter script damage a computer? We have never heard of this script damaging any computer. Most websites operate similar statistical packages. I chose this one because Statcounter appears to be a more ethical organisation then the alternatives I had seen.
If you want to know more, you can see the Statcounter website or ask the Webmaster - that's me!
