See us at Wonderwool Wales at the Royal Welsh Showground. Builth Wells on 28th and 29th April.

No news, at the moment, about our move. The shop, computer, radio and camera museum, camp site and woodland walk are all open.
Trade orders and commissions are welcome as we will continue the wholesale/bespoke business whether we move or not.
We are taking bookings for the campsite for all of 2012 as most people who are looking at the property want to keep it going.

Visitors often comment that our shop is an Aladdin's cave. We stock about 1000 items, 90% of which are MADE IN WALES. Most of our suppliers are small family firms, or individual crafts people.

We produce some clothes, either knitted or woven,  based on wool from our own rare sheep, or made from artificial fleece. Our wool is also used in knitting and weaving kits, and can be bought as balls of un-dyed knitting wool, hanks ready for dyeing or as carded fleece for spinners. We also sell commercial King Cole wool.

In the pottery you can see how we make our range of earthenware products and make glass jewelry. We decorate bone china in the house, but can set up a demonstration if you give us some notice.  The same goes for some basic wool processing. You can also throw a pot on one of our potter's wheels, or have a go at decorating ready made bone china.

Near the shop and pottery you can also see our collections of old machinery, radios cameras and home computers.

Our small farm used to have a flock of rare Norfolk Horn sheep, (Only the lambs born in Spring 2010 are here now). Norfolk Horns, in spite of their name, would have been here 1000 years ago. (Or at least the Universal Saxon Black Faced Sheep of which the Norfolk is the closest surviving descendant, would have been.)

The Woodland walk consists of 2 miles of regularly mown grass paths on an easy  circular route through 16 species of trees, mature hedges, beautiful views, numerous species of wild flowers dragonflies and butterflies and over 60 species of birds. For the dedicated wildlife watchers we also have interesting flora of fungi and lichens, and a fair representation of mammals (including bats, and freshwater mammals,) reptiles and amphibians. The walk is also marked up as a nature and brass rubbing trail.

After shopping, potting, and walking you can recuperate in our friendly tearoom where we serve hot and cold drinks, cream teas and light snacks. Also delicious local ice-cream.

If you can't do everything you want to in one day why not bring your tent or caravan? Our Camping and Caravan Club Certificated Site is only open to members, but you can join here.

We are Huw and Thelma, and with a little help from the family we try to look after everything ourselves and would be delighted to show you round! Please note that although we try to ensure that this website correct, some things will change between updates. If you notice any errors please let us know, so that we can correct them for the benefit of other users.

A website hotel-discount.com has an incorrect entry supposedly representing us as a Hotel. Glyn-Coch Craft Centre is NOT a hotel, and the videos
shown are of the wonderful Glyn-Coch Community Centre, which is totally unrelated to us and is about 100 miles east of us. hotel-discount.com publishes
no physical address and appears to be trying to cash in on the success of the rather expensive, but apparently more honest hoteldiscount.com .
Refugees from either of these websites are welcome to visit us if they are staying in West Wales.

 Craftspeople.

Please look at our host's website to see the dream craftsman's tool for all repetitive work.

The Z90 (see Routout's products page) might look hi-tech and industrial, but these very versatile machines are turned out at a rate of one a week by one man working in his garden shed, and sold for a fraction of the price of the competition. (We've met an elderly craftsman who paid over three times the price.) If you worry about quality look at the list of his customers! Design and finish of your products is still up to you!
